My beautiful friend Ania Caffarena makes amazing sculptures from wire. She keeps her tooling to a minimum so she can travel around making things out her van / bedroom. We met in the Noosa National Park Car Park and have been on lots of adventures together since.
Ania Caffarena is an Italian world wanderer, who began her life in Asia and has adventured The Americas and Europe making and creating art wherever she goes. Arriving in Australia in November 2015, she embarked on a solo roadie in her trusty old van Rusty. Driving across the continent, she made Whales from Darwin to The Red Centre, all along The Great Ocean Road to Bruny Island in Tasmania and back up North to Noosa.
Now based in Byron Bay, she makes her sculptures with whatever materials she found on her roadtrips, and gets inspiration from the beautiful land that surrounds her. Ania is a young explorer with her sights firmly set on a life full of fun times, creativity and endless summers.
